When was the last time you gave yourself permission to truly rest?
Not scrolling your phone.
Not watching television.
Not checking things off your to-do list.
Real rest.
The kind that allows your body to soften, your breathing to deepen, and your mind to become a little quieter.
Art of Rest is a gentle, restorative experience designed to help you slow down, release tension, and reconnect with yourself through mindful movement, Yoga Nidra, and the soothing sounds of crystal singing bowls and chimes.
Whether you're feeling physically tired, mentally overwhelmed, or simply longing for a moment to breathe, this experience offers a space to pause, restore, and return to yourself.
Many of us have been taught that rest is something we earn after everything else is finished.
But there will always be another email to answer, another errand to run, another responsibility waiting for our attention.
Rest isn't a reward.
It's one of the ways we care for ourselves so we have the energy, presence, and resilience to care for everything else that matters.
Giving yourself permission to pause isn't selfish.
It's essential.
Your experience begins with gentle, accessible movement designed to release physical tension while calming the mind.
You'll be invited to practice on a yoga mat, in a chair, or using a combination of both, making the experience welcoming and accessible for a wide range of abilities and comfort levels.
Throughout the practice, sound therapist Cat Laiacone accompanies the experience with the soothing sounds of crystal singing bowls and chimes. As you move, breathe, and settle into stillness, the soundscape creates a calming atmosphere that supports relaxation and presence.
The journey concludes with an extended Yoga Nidra practice, often described as "yogic sleep." This deeply restorative guided meditation allows the body to enter profound relaxation while the mind remains gently aware. Combined with Cat's therapeutic sound journey, it creates an opportunity to rest in a way many people rarely experience.
No prior yoga, meditation, or sound healing experience is necessary.
Simply come as you are.
When we intentionally slow down, the body and mind have an opportunity to shift out of "doing" mode and into a state of restoration.
Many participants find that practices like gentle movement, Yoga Nidra, and therapeutic sound help them:
Calm the nervous system and reduce feelings of stress and overwhelm
Release physical tension held in the body
Quiet mental chatter and cultivate a greater sense of inner peace
Improve relaxation and support more restful sleep
Feel more grounded, centered, and emotionally balanced
Return to daily life with greater clarity, patience, and resilience
While every person's experience is unique, many people are surprised by how refreshed and renewed they feel after simply giving themselves permission to pause.
Rest is not about doing nothing.
It's about creating the space your body and mind need to restore, heal, and reconnect.
